What it is for
A coil is selected on the entering air's enthalpy and humidity ratio and judged on where its leaving state lands; a mixing box's mixed state sits on the straight line between return and outside air; an evaporative pad slides along a wet-bulb line; reheat moves horizontally. Drawing them is how a process is checked before it is solved — and the builder draws exactly this chart for a solved system.
