The gas rooftop without its outside-air damper: a DX coil on a scroll, a gas furnace downstream of it for heat and reheat, a supply fan, a two-fan condenser — for a floor whose outside air comes from a dedicated unit. Published as an example; the figures below are solved from this model.
Example25–60 kW heating + coolingEUExample system. Published by HVAC Builder to show suppliers what their own page looks like. There is no company behind it and it is not a product offer — the specification is generic and the performance is solved from the model on this page.
Solved from this example's own model each time the page loads — the same numbers a supplier's page shows for their machine.
| Component | Kind | Duty |
|---|---|---|
| DX coil | dxEvaporator | 56.5 kW |
| Gas furnace, 80 % | heater | 0.0 kW |
| Supply fan | fan | -1.4 kW |
| Scroll compressors (4 × ZP49KHE) | compressor | 12.5 kW |
| Air-cooled condenser | condenser | -68.4 kW |
| Condenser fans (2) | fan | -2.4 kW |
Every air-coil refrigerant circuit here is reversible, so this machine is also a heat pump. Solved with the circuit running backwards at the standard air-to-air heating rating point — outdoor 7 °C dry bulb / 6 °C wet bulb, indoor 20 / 15 °C (EN 14511) — not at the supplier's own design conditions above, so the two ratings can be compared across machines.
