Packaged DX VAV rooftop, 7 m³/s

by HVAC Builder

Open this system in HVAC Builder Load it into the 3D builder, adjust it to your project, and solve it against your own climate — or drop it into a building model and simulate a full year.

A packaged rooftop for a VAV floor: outside-air damper with an economiser and demand-controlled ventilation, DX coil on an inverter scroll, an electric heater for morning warm-up, and a supply fan that holds a duct static as the boxes throttle; the boxes themselves live on the building. Published as an example; the figures below are solved from this model.

Example85–125 kW heating + coolingEU

Example system. Published by HVAC Builder to show suppliers what their own page looks like. There is no company behind it and it is not a product offer — the specification is generic and the performance is solved from the model on this page.

Design-point performance

112.1 kWcooling
34.6 kWelectrical power
3.24system COP

Solved from this example's own model each time the page loads — the same numbers a supplier's page shows for their machine.

Every air-coil refrigerant circuit here is reversible, so this machine is also a heat pump. Solved with the circuit running backwards at the standard air-to-air heating rating point — outdoor 7 °C dry bulb / 6 °C wet bulb, indoor 20 / 15 °C (EN 14511) — not at the supplier's own design conditions above, so the two ratings can be compared across machines.
